This space saving and luxuriously designed Polished Chrome double spouted under sink kit allows your Jupiter Melody JP104 and Athena water ionizers to be neatly tucked away under your kitchen sink. The previous model only allowed alkaline water, but this one makes available both alkaline and acid water from the same spout. This is a significant improvement. This kit also prevents any water backing up into the ionizer, which was a potential problem with the previous model. If you have heard about the Melody Water Ionizer as many people have, but can't sacrifice the counter space in your kitchen then this is your solution.
The kit comes with everything necessary for quick and easy installation. All that is needed is a 1-1/2" hole wherever you want the faucet to be located. This faucet has no electric controls so access to the ionizer under the counter is still needed to change pH settings, adjust flow rate or check filter life indicator. Once pH and flow rates are set on your ionizer there is rarely a need to change them.
As you may already notice several other colors are also available. You can choose from polished chrome, brushed chrome, brushed nickel, brass and white to fit the décor of your kitchen.
Under The Sink Kit - Installation Instructions
This kits enables you to use the Melody as an under the counter installation.
The water source can be either:
1. The cold line of a dishwasher or
2. The cold water pipe.Included are:
1. Vented faucet that ensures a one way flow of water upwards
2. Attachments for dishwasher or cold line.Important: Please read before you begin Installation
The waste water line that goes from the bottom of the Melody needs to run downward so that it joins to the dishwasher or waste water line below the bottom of the Melody. Because of this your Melody will need to be raised above floor levelAttaching the Under Sink Kit to cold water pipe:
Decide on position of your ionizer. The closer to the door the better, with easy access to controls. It is good to mount it on the side wall with the screws supplied so that you do not lose storage space for cleaning materials. Also, install as high as possible so to allow for the downhill flow of the acid waste water.
Attach threaded John Guest valve into the top hole of your ionizer.
Install faucet by using an available hole in the sink or cutting a 1" hole in countertop or sink and fastening it in place. Be sure the location of the faucet allows the outlet spout to extend slightly past the edge of the sink.* Our faucet has a 4” overhang
TURN OFF YOUR COLD WATER SUPPLY VALVE and attach the “T” valve fitting to the cold water supply line.
Attach the Green Tube to the “T” Valve on the Cold Water supply line
Connect the blue hose into the tap water inlet fitting under the Water Ionizer
Connect the clear hose into the John Guest Valve that you have already installed into the top of the Water Ionizer
Attach supplied Drain with T to under your sink.
Attach grey (or white) 3/8" tube to acid water outlet. A clamp is not required. If the dishwasher drain is not occupied on the sink drain, open it up and attach the acid water hose, using silicon to seal it. If this is already used, use a hose tee into the dishwasher drain hose to allow it to share the dishwasher drainage point with the dishwasher, or drill a hole in waste pipe and use silicon to fix acid hose in place. In this case, you need to create an S-bend in the acid hose to prevent odor. This can be done using cup hooks on the wall of the cupboard. You will want to cut the length of this hose so it is not too long.
Turn on the cold water supply and test for leaks.
Plug in the ionizer and turn it on. Select the pH setting you require. Turn on the faucet above sink and test the flow.
