If you are looking for an affordable Japanese water ionizer that has virtually the same alkaline water making capacity as the IE-500 but without the fancy LCD screen then you should consider the IE-400 Microwater ionizer. The IE-400 is a close relative of the legendary Pure Porte II Microwater unit. It has an improved computer on board a front panel face plate. It has three solid electrolysis plates like the IE-300 and the Pure Port II. With several new machines on the market today with five and even seven plates you might not think much of a three plate machine, but that would be like forgetting history. Three plate machines were used in Japanese hospitals before there were five and seven plate water ionizers and they achieved outstanding results.
