Question: If
a line with shut off valve was run to a 500 gal main LP
tank, would there be an issue? How gal of LP would it
use in say 8 hrs?
Answer: Yes,
the generator can be connected to this tank, but please
note you'll want to make sure to keep the propane hose
and regulators we provide in line for your connection;
and feed the generator at least 3 PSI of pressure. The
generator will use about 7.76 gallons of propane in 8
hours if running on a 50% load. For further information
please feel free to contact us at 800-706-6121.
Question: What
kind of a trickle charger should I use for the battery
(for electric start) on this unit
Answer: The
generator battery can be charged with any 12V trickle
charger that's compatible with SLA batteries. For
further information please feel free to contact us at
800-706-6121.
Question: What
is the difference between the HX, EHC, E, and EH models?
Answer: The
models that end with "E" will be gasoline only versions,
and the models that end with "EH" will have the same
specifications as the gasoline models, but they can run
on gasoline or propane. The "EHC" version is a Canadian
only variant that is CSA approved so it can be sold in
Canada. The "HX" series will have the same specs as the
"EH" model variants, but the "HX" series will have the
additional features of a CO shut off sensor, digital
multimeter, push button start, and an additional set of
GFCI 120V outlets. For further information please feel
free to contact us at 800-706-6121.
Question: Do
you make a generator that will run on gas and or natural
gas?
Answer: We
currently only make models that run on gasoline and
propane, but we currently don't have a natural gas model
at this time. For further information please feel free
to contact us at 800-706-6121.
Question: Is
this or the 12,000 available with an hour run meter? Can
one be hooked up?
Answer: The
XP13000HX and XP12000HX will be included with a digital
multimeter on the control panel that displays voltage,
current runtime hours, total runtime hours, and
frequency. For further information please feel free to
contact us at 800-706-6121.
Question: Does
the engine have pressure oil lubrication. Oil filters ?
Answer: The
XP13000HX will have a splash oil system and it won't
have oil filters in this engine type. For further
information please feel free to contact us at
800-706-6121.
Question: How
much does it cost

Question: What
is the THD on this unit
Answer: The
THD on this generator will be 10-12% under load. For
further information please feel free to contact us at
800-706-6121 option 1.
Question: Will
it run on natural gas.
Answer: No,
this generator wouldn't be compatible with running on
natural gas. The XP13000HX is only capable of gasoline
and propane. For further questions please feel free to
contact us at 800-706-6121.
Question: What
material is the engines cylinder?
Answer: The
cylinder will have a cast iron sleeve. For further
information please feel free to contact us at
800-706-6121.
Question: What
is the total harmonic distortion? This is important if
you are running electronics.
Answer: The
THD reading on our XP13000HX unit will be 10-12% under
load. We don't recommend using any sensitive electronic
equipment without using an on-line double conversion UPS
system to clean the power. For further information
please feel free to contact us at 800-706-6121.

Question: What
is the THD on the DuroMax XP13000HX
Answer: The
generator will have a THD of about 10-12% under load.
For further information please feel free to contact us
at 844-DUROMAX.
Question: How
do I prevent my propane tank from freezing up?
Answer: Use
a larger propane tank. Note: The reason your tank is
frosting up is that your generator is using a large
volume of propane which cools the tank in the same way a
refrigerator works.
Question: I’m
trying to connect the generator to my large backyard
propane tank, what are the pressure requirements for the
generator?
Answer: At
least 3 psi of pressure is required to operate and start
consistently. Note: Both propane regulators provided
with the generator are necessary to operate properly.
Question: What
oil should I use?
Answer: 30
weight conventional oil for the first 20 hours of use.
After the first 20 hours either synthetic or
conventional. Reference the chart in the manual for
multi-grade oil recommendations.
Question: Where’s
the negative cable located for the battery?
Answer: It
is located above and behind the battery and ground to
the generator housing. Note: The negative battery cable
is disconnected on arrival to prevent discharge before
the unit is sold.
Question: Where
are the shipping braces located?
Answer: The
generator will have brightly colored shipping brace(s)
in between the engine and the generator frame. Note:
These must be removed before use.
